১১.০৬.২০২৩ইং রোজ রবিবার আনুমানিক রাত ১:০০ ঘটিকার সময় রাজধানীর মোহাম্মদপুরের আক্কাস নগর হাউজিং এর আক্কাস নগর বাইতুল্লাহ জামে মসজিদের ৩য় তালায় অগ্নিকাণ্ডের ঘটনা ঘটে ৷ পথচারীদের চেচামেচি শুনে স্থানীয় লোকজন মসজিদের সামনে এসে জরো হয় এবং স্থানীয় লোকজনের প্রচেষ্টায় আগুন নেভাতে সক্ষম হয়। ফায়ার সার্ভিসের টিম আসার আগেই স্থানীয় লোকজনের সহযোগিতায় আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে আসে। এই অগ্নিকান্ডে কিছু পুরাতন মালামাল এবং পরিত্যাজ্য কিছু জিনিস পাতি পুরে গেছে। কোনো মানুষের কোনোরকম ক্ষয়ক্ষতি হয়নি বলে জানিয়েছেন স্থানীয় সুত্র। কি কারনে আগুন লেগেছে কোথা থেকে লেগেছে বা লাগতে পারে তা কেওই বলতে পারে নি।
নাম প্রকাশে অনিচ্ছা প্রকাশ করে প্রত্যক্ষদর্শী এক পথচারী বলেন; আমি মসজিদের পাশের বাড়ির সামনের চায়ের দোকানে চা খেয়ে বাসায় যাচ্ছিলাম। এমন সময় তাকিয়ে দেখি মসজিদের ছাদে আগুন জ্বলছে পরে আমি চিৎকার দিলে মানুষ জন জড়ো হয়ে আগুন নিভাতে শুরু করে এবং ফায়ার সার্ভিসের টিম আসার আগেই আগুন নিভাতে সক্ষম হয়। ক্ষয়ক্ষতি হয়েছে কিনা জানতে চাইলে তিনি বলেন; তেমন কোনো ক্ষয়ক্ষতি হয়নি শুধু কিছু পুরাতন মালামাল পুড়ে গেছে। আল্লাহ হয়তো আমাদের অনেক বড় একটা বিপদ থেকে মুক্ত করেছেন।
